Sunrise Cabinets is a local, family owned and operated company specializing in the design, manufacture and installation of a broad range of quality-built cabinets.As Production Manager, I was responsible for the day-to-day operations of production floor including scheduling of staff, delegating responsibilities, providing excellent customer service and establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff, clients and suppliers. • Led teams of production staff involved in door assembly, cabinetry, finishing and shipping. Built the initial team of production crew including hiring, training and mentoring. • Recognized for being a motivational and fair leader. Coached, scheduled, trained and conducted yearly performance reviews for teams ranging from 7 to 65. • Relied on to purchase hundreds of thousand dollars of equipment, negotiating the best quality and price for the company.• Purchased millions of dollars of supplies annually from vendors across Canada and the US.• Recognized by the company for raising profitability through cost controls on supplies and inventory.• Organized machinery according to the flow of production, adhering to Kaizen methodologies. Established and monitored daily / weekly KPI’s ensuring productivity targets were achieved.• Effectively led the production of an average of 200+ kitchen cabinet boxes per day.• Supervised the Health & Safety Committee. Set up health and safety audit procedures, improved safety efficiencies and adherence to WorkSafeBC standards.• Facilitated training of new staff to minimize turnover and increase productivity.• Ensured all staff were given the opportunity to upgrade by offering courses in CNC programming, Forklift certification, First Aid training etc.• Prepared shift, break, and vacation schedules, ensuring fairness for all.
