About Steve Thibodeaux

I began my insurance career in 1976 as an underwriter for a Baton Rouge based insurance company and later joined Wright & Percy Insurance Agency as its first Marketing Director in their downtown Baton Rouge office. I have since been an agency owner, executive sales associate, and marketing specialist. My extensive experience insuring and placing business insurance for the construction, wholesale, energy, professional and marine industries gives me a unique perspective of many different risk exposures and solutions.I have a bachelor’s degree in General Business from Northeast Louisiana University (now University of Louisiana-Monroe) and received my Masters of Science degree in Insurance Management from Boston University. I’ve also earned the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designations, two of the highest continuing education achievements for the insurance industry.Currently, I serve as the Commercial Manager and Vice President for BXS Insurance in Lake Charles, LA. I also provide commercial risk management and insurance solutions to clients across south Louisiana.
