Steve ‘Lobby’ ThorntonRetired Met Police Firearms Instructor and Founder of Trojan Wellbeing.Having identified the poor support available for colleagues and family members within the BlueLight Communities, Trojan Wellbeing was formed.*Initially we provided Peer Support for colleagues within the Police, but we have grown and evolved to support colleagues and family members across a number of sectors such as NHS, Fire, Military and Ambulance communities.*We strongly believe in providing early intervention through improved Mental Health literacy, which will help to create safer more inclusive environments, at work and home.*Providing a wide range of Mental Health First Aid courses tailored for the unique roles performed, to Workshops providing invaluable support and information on issues such as stress management, sleep, menopause and other related conditions.*Providing support to those already impacted by trauma and physical injuries, through our network of Professionally Trained Counsellors and Therapists, who mostly come from BlueLight or Military backgrounds. *Offering links to experienced Legal services during Misconduct and disciplinary proceedings.*Challenging unjust treatment of colleagues, especially around vindictive misconduct investigations which have destroyed the careers of hard working colleagues and family members.Fundamentally our objective is to provide support for those who feel they have nowhere to turn to and also help build resilience in order to prevent unnecessary injuries occurring.Trojan Wellbeing are currently transitioning into full Charity status, which will enable us to secure funding for our wellbeing projects nationwide.
