As MD, my role is to guide and direct the business to provide the best possible service at the best value for money for our customers, regardless of their size.IPS provide specialist pipe-freezing, line stopping and hot tapping services in London and across the UK. Our engineers are on call 7 days a week to deal with emergency and planned maintenance to HVAC pipework. I manage our teams to make sure this happens.After 14 years with the Metropolitan Police rising to the rank of Inspector I decided to go back to my first love - Mechanical Engineering. The years’ spent in the Force were good as they taught me how to combine essential people skills with efficient process management. And I can happily talk with people of all opinions and still focus on getting the job done.I must be one of the few engineers who can cope equally well with detailed paperwork as well as rolling up my sleeves on a job. Luckily for me, having started at IPS in the role of Contracts Manager, I am now Managing Director and so I spend less time on site and more time at my desk. You’ll still see me on site for the more complex jobs as one of my key skills is identifying solutions to situations that others might walk away from. No challenge is too great for our dedicated and expert engineers at IPS.My current challenge is to focus on growing the business further by satisfying the needs of both large corporations and smaller contractors equally well.
