Steve Walker is the Vice President for the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco and has functional responsibility in the District’s Community Perspectives Program. Community Perspectives focuses on outreach to the Twelfth District’s 600+ community banks, as well as regional business leaders. In addition, he serves as Branch Manager for the Portland office, overseeing the Portland Branch Board of Directors and its contribution to monetary policy decisions. Steve joined the Portland Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco in May 1993. Prior to joining the Twelfth District, he worked for seven years as an internal auditor at the Birmingham Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. His 27- year career at the Federal Reserve Bank has encompassed analytical, supervisory and managerial positions in Business Development and Check Services, among others. He has also served on various Federal Reserve System leadership committees.Steve received his Bachelor’s Degree in Corporate Finance from the University of Alabama, and he is a graduate of Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington.
