Initially joined Westpac as Head of Business Management, Business Bank in 2003. In 2005 I left to run Nationwide Finance Limited as CEO with a specific objective of repositioning the business for sale and maximising the return to its shareholder. On achieving this objective with a trade sale to Allied Farmers Group I rejoined Westpac as Chief Operating Officer, Business Bank in September 2007.

The Equitable Group at the time was a privately owned financial services group specialising in commercial property and project finance. As CEO I reported to the Board which comprised owner representation and independent Directors.

My career at the BNZ Group spanned 15 years commencing as a finance rep in 1987 at BNZ Finance Limited, progressing through to General Manager by 1999. Following the amalgamation of BNZ Finance with its parent (Bank of New Zealand) in 2001 I joined the executive of the Bank as GM Agribusiness.
