Using a smartphone, Voicewise has obtained a 97% accuracy in identifying Parkinson pathology in a university of Pavia study. Mr Armstrong teaches a masters course in “MHP and Digital Television”, in the “Master in Tecnologia Avanzate di Comunicazione Interattiva (TACI)” syllabus at the University of Tor Vergata in Rome.

Mr. Armstrong’s activities consist of providing technical direction and guidance for company business development and heads Orbit’s applications department and information technologies infrastructure. He successfully designed, specified and implemented the current middleware platform for Orbit with the corresponding multi-nation Intranet communication structure, worked on the development of WiMax and WiMax Mobile architecture and development, 3G UTMS applications, DRM (OMA 2.0 and Open Framework), and other New Media business models.

His responsibilities included: defining customer expectations and requirements, design and implementation of the technical architecture (TV application, back-end, infrastructure, network and database), design and implementation of the enhanced and interactive TV applications, managing content providers including system integration, cost analysis and business models for the interactive applications, analysis and research of new applications.Mr. Armstrong was the representative of Stream on the DVB standards body commercial committee (CM), technical committees TM (Technical Module), and TAM (Technical Aspects for Multimedia home platform), which developed and defined the DVB MHP interactive TV standard.

Worked as a product manager for Sodalia products developed for Bell Atlantic Inc. and Telecom Italia Spa. The mandate of Sodalia is to develop next generation Telecom applications common for both companies.Mr. Armstrong's planning activities involved several projects including: Application Management Systems; Network Data Collection and Analysis; Marketing Information Systems; and International Billing systems among others. Specific planning tasks include: establishing and maintaining customer contacts; requirements collection; market analysis; liaison between parent companies; budgeting; product direction; contract management; product identification, analysis, and specification of competing products. In addition to the above, he worked in a consulting capacity with Stream S.p.a within the STET / IBM technical group on the specification of the Interactive Multi-Media (IMM) platform based on the Telcom Italia SOCRATE network.

Mr. Armstrong was in charge of product planning for Communications, Operating Systems and Hardware products for the Olivetti PB financial product offer. Areas of responsibility included: Network Management; LAN offer for the financial platform; Distributed Computing Environment definition; basic system architecture; standards compliance; OSS and hardware definition.Specific tasks included: Offer strategy; market analysis (current and projected); new product definition description and specification; competition analysis; consultant to R&D; development budget and schedules; liaison between Product Planning, R&D, and subsidiaries in several countries (Europe, North America, ASIA).

Mr. Armstrong was responsible for R&D in the area of Expert System Capacity planning and computer modeling for IBM mainframe sites. Responsibilities included: Recruitment, work scheduling and management of the workstation staff of 15 engineers. Mr. Armstrong was also responsible for the Expert System prototypes for capacity management.
