About Steve Catlin

Are you an Engineering Director, Head of Programmes or Change within a UK Engineering Organisation?- Are your systems and processes unnecessarily complex causing elevated Operations costs?- Are your revenues delayed by being slow to market?- Are you on the hook for sub-par operational performance?- Are you embarrassed by failing to meet your delivery promises to customers? - Are you frustrated that you can’t achieve the operational performance uplift that you can see in your mind? - Are you concerned about how this reflects upon you personally, amongst your executive peers?Wouldn’t it be better if Operations delivered so well, it was a contributor to enabling enhance revenues and ran at optimal costs and caused your peers to celebrate your leadership? It’s because your systems and processes have become unnecessarily complex. Additional operational risk and cost also exists because your systems have reached end of support. When you throw in the regular instances of data being re-keyed multiple times because of a lack of end to end processing then the dream of accurate reports that are also automated will stay a dream. In my 12 years’ experience of leading operations effectively, I have led the operational contribution to enabling revenue over ten times and have managed to achieve that whilst keeping a strong hand on operational costs including a £40m cost win across global operations.I am pretty sure that’s why my former Head of Programmes felt pleasure when we delivered a programme to Globalise, Rationalise and Standardise Engineering Processes removing over 6,000 local processes and said “Steve has always surpassed expectation, a natural leader, he brings commitment, hard work and a sense of fun to work. He thrives on pressure and responsibility and has an intuitive knack for resolving issues early”.
