My role was to quickly return the business to an even keel, improve morale and improve bookings with a view to substantial growth during 2002.My responsibilities include sales, pre-sales, training, new product introduction and marketing, I had responsibility for 120 staff.By the end of Q1 2002 I had replaced/changed senior managers in the UK, France, Germany & Benelux. Bookings increased from $5.3 million in Q3 2001 to $10.5 million by the end of Q1 2002.During Q1 2002 the Sniffer business in EMEA grew 17% over Q1 2001 in a depressed market. IDC (industry analysts) estimate growth in this market sector to be 3% during 2002.

My initial responsibility was to develop a network of partners across the region as to date all Kana business had been direct.I spent my first 16 months in Kana developing an international team of Business Development Managers to undertake the recruitment of suitable partners. This included evaluation, business planning, contract negotiation, training, implementation and integration with the Kana territory sales team.In the 16 months our partner related business went from 0% to 45% of all business across EMEA. During this time we sustained growth in excess of 1000% from $3million to $36million in EMEA.

I was the 6th employee in the European Company and initially employed to recruit a sales force and establish a network of reseller across EMEA. During my four years with Genesys I exceeded target every year and grew the European business from $0.5 million to $50 million.

I spent my last two years working on one account. I was responsible for the development of the relationship between Datapoint and TSB bank. The culmination of my efforts was to secure the largest order Datapoint had ever achieved.Over the two years I worked on this account I won business to the value of $18 million supplying all the technology for TSB PhoneBank. I led a consortium of Datapoint, Unisys & Mercury.I was the top salesperson worldwide in Datapoint Corporation during the year’s fy1994 & fy1995.
