Campaign ManagerMoyo Inc Calgary Aug 2012 - PresentCalgary, Alberta, CanadaAlong with Bruce Lee helped manage the election of Jeff Davison to Calgary City Council for Ward 6 with a 45% share of the 30,713 votes cast. Jeff Davison is a passionate leader whose business acumen will help drive Calgary back into prosperity. I am looking forward to connecting with city employees and those in the business community who have brilliant ideas and experiences to share with council on making that happen. Also worked on his Mayoral campaign in 2021. Over the past 20 years I have worked on 60 different campaigns, knocked on 350,000 doors and spoken face to face with a half million voters. -

Performance Improvement SpecialistMoyo Inc Calgary Oct 2011 - 2012Where Passion Meets PurposeWe DO NOT manage change. What we can manage is how people respond to it Change can be terrifying and debilitating. OR a time of great change and renewed passion for purpose. Huge successes can be found in new opportunities. Empires and dynasties are forged. Embracing change is the greatest contribution you can make to success. -
Senior AssociateS2S Scenarios To Strategy 2014 - PresentWe assist clients with strategy development, communication plans, marketing, social media and organizational tactics. Our goal is to help create empowering and meaningful vision and mission strategies that can be firmly implemented into every part of the organization with clear measurable performance. Without a clear action plan even the best goals can be unattainable. We help make sure that what is decided in the board room is acted upon at the shop floor so that everyone involved understands their role and participates in organizational success. When everyone understands their "WHY" it is much easier to implement the "What" and "How".

Chief Safety OfficerTraffic Accident Response Program 1990 - Dec 2012The Traffic Accident Response Program is dedicated to cost effective solutions to traffic problems and the reduction of traffic collisions. Traffic accidents are not just a police problem. Enforcing traffic safety laws is not the only answer although still vital. More people are injured and killed by traffic law infractions than all other crime combined. Most crashes are completely avoidable and preventable but we need cooperative, comprehensive solutions involving police, government and business. TARP helped pioneer the use of environmental design cues to modify driver behaviour. Although useful, long term traffic calming practices are often overused and not always successful or quick acting. We need immediate, consistent and decisive action to keep people safe today not at some distant point in the future. Our clients have included government, community associations and corporations. Traffic challenges are a multi billion dollar annual problem to Calgary business. Imagine the lives saved if twinning Alberta Highway 63 had been a joint government-oil patch project and completed 10 years ago. Even relatively small changes in how streets are used can save any sized company considerable time and money. Let us help you review your traffic safety risk and demonstrate solutions that really work.

Chief Operating OfficerVenturion Inc. Oct 2007 - Dec 2011Venturion was focused on achieving sustainable long term funding for our charity partners. We believed that charity funding is best achieved when corporate clients gain value for money and significant recognition for their corporate social responsibility. We also believed that investors could make a profit while they made a difference by using this as an investment vehicle. Unfortunately like far too many projects we followed the world into the largest recession in the past century.

Aldermanic Candidate For 2010 Election In Ward 9Calgary City Council Jun 2010 - Oct 2010My 2010 civic election platform put safety and security as part of Calgary's triple bottom line. Calgary needs smart, cost effective growth with less micromanagement from city hall. We need better community engagement that doesn't feel condescending. City council's main role is to be aggressive protectors of public interest and reflect the views and vision of the electorate to administration instead of the other way around. They must also be vigilante watchdogs of the public purse ensuring Calgary's $2.7 billion budget is spent prudently with maximum return.

Aldermanic Candidate For Calgary City Council In Ward 8Ward 8 2001 - 2007All too often candidates make promises that never get fulfilled and so each election is a repeat of the one before. More safety, better traffic management, increased fiscal management and auditing. But government cannot actually do most of these things. Citizens have to.Our greatest success comes from effective partnership with the private sector to ensure Calgary's continued growth and stability. Although I lost these elections it was important that this message was heard. It must have resonated as only 146 votes separated me from the incumbent in 2004. In 2007 it was a three way photo finish with a 300 vote difference despite my opponents spending $250,000 more on their campaigns than I did. My campaign successes came at the doors of over 50,000 Calgarians where I won support one voter at a time.

Police OfficerCalgary Police Service 1978 - 1990I was privileged to work diverse high call areas in the downtown core and Forest Lawn where I was able to help a great many people suffering from unfortunate circumstances. I saw some of the best and worst parts of humanity. Despite having a call and arrest record consistently in the top 5% of the department my greatest metric was the difference I could make for so many Calgarians.Attending 60 fatal traffic crashes provided insight into the fragility of life and the need to live today fully. Everyone's life touches so many others and can be changed irrevocably in a heart beat. A moment of inattention. More citizens are injured and killed by traffic crashes than by all other police investigated activity combined. In the 80's CPS launched one of the most innovative traffic safety programs in North America. This CPTED based project was unique, cost effective and a successful supplement to a simple enforcement model in changing driver behaviour. By changing how we measured Selective Enforcement and CheckStop performance we started to better focus our efforts on making real change. This not only earned me a Master degree in Psychology but also the satisfaction of actually making a difference. We still have a long way to go in order to convince everyone involved in traffic safety that there really are solutions. In the Detective Division I helped create and manage the Centralized Analysis Unit. We hired civilians with advanced degrees in behavioural science to quickly analyze complex criminal activity and ongoing crime trends. This was particularly useful when crimes crossed internal zone boundaries or between cities. One of my major tasks was to evaluate and understand the growing youth gang problem in Calgary. I loved being a cop but eventually left the Service to run for city council and do Doctoral research work in youth crime. -
