I was responsible for the public safety and security team in the West and Central European region primarily developing public safety business. My main contact points were MOI or MOD providing guidance on 5 to 10 year Public Safety plans.A key deliverable was the Ericsson part of the UK Emergency Services Network architecture delivering a public safety LTE compliant Secure mobile core into Motorola.

I was responsible for the technical strategy of the UK Ericsson group providing technical and market input across a range of UK customers and technologies. The group focused on customers such as 3UK, BT, Cable and Wireless, Verizon UK, Level 3, Talk Talk Technologies. The technology covers IP/MPLS, Voice, BRAS, 4G, Wi-Fi , Microwave, Optical transport. I also covered legacy TDM transmission (PDH, SDH).

I was responsible for IP technical pre sales in the UK&I

Provide IP Pre Sales support to accounts in EMEA. Technology: IP, MPLS, Ethernet, BRAS, RAN Backhaul, Mobile Core

My role was senior technical sales supporting the major key account teams (including BT) across the UK. It was my responsibility to build the technical relationships and upsell Redback product. Of note, I successfully designed and helped deliver the BT 21CN broadband network and the Talk Talk Telecom next generation network.

My role included developing relationships throughout the businesses that we bid to, regularly presenting to board level, qualifying the sales teams from a technical perspective. This enabled me to develop strong commercial relationships throughout the business specifically with the technical, procurement and pricing divisions. My major sales achievement was selling into WIND, Italy where I sold a RAN backhaul solution. This was a 10million sterling deal.

After leaving University I began my career at BT in the IP design function at BT Labs in Martlesham. Over the years I held several technical roles all of which were design based. I was heavily involved with the global MPLS network and was one of the first to design and test MPLS in a global carrier.
