Senior It Application Support Manager
CurrentThe Global Customs and Tax IT Application Support Manager provides management and guidance on technical, process and product aspects of the project. The role spans engagement with project teams during all phases of the project with an emphasis on the design, coding and test areas. The ASM provides guidance on software development projects as well as commercial off the shelf configuration and deployment projects. The ASM has strong knowledge of a given technology domain and is able to assist in estimation, design, technical issue resolution as well as overall delivery of complex, large scale solutions.Major Duties/Responsibilities1. Created, staffed, and led the training and knowledge transfer of the application support team to insource a significant portion of ongoing operational support from an outside supplier. Insourcing saved over $1 million per year. 2. Provides day to day technical management and process guidance on development activities associated with large-scale, complex development/deployment projects.3. Conducts technical deep-dives on software designs, code, and test artifacts. Provides support to project teams with improvements to development/deployment work products4. Aligns with Architects and Software engineers in evaluating the feasibility of solutions proposed and acts as a bridge for software developers5. Responsible to handle all L3 Production Incidents6. Single point of contact for Business, Enterprise Command Center (ECC) and GM IT Ops during SEV 1 (P1/P2) incidents that require Innovation Team Support and communication to business7. Ensures integration of all key project stakeholders including Architecture, Project Management, Estimation, and Software Engineering. 8. Determines the technical skill set needs and staffing plans based on project pipeline. Develops training plans and implements development plans per the pipeline.
