Technical lead for a Software Test team located in Rochester, NY and Kiel Germany. Supported the development of a controller designed to drive a full process color printing press. Designed and executed test cases for the RIP and JDF sub-systems. Invented automation routines in Visual Basic to run the tests and then evaluate the results.• Defined and then implemented a bitmap comparison process used to verify color management. Later utilized to verify all image processing components of a digital front end. Resulted in a 100% manual process being reduced to a five step automated process with only the differences being reviewed manually.• Developed tools for testing JMF communications when none existed. This allowed NexPress to introduce products first in the marketplace.

Studied Optical Measurement equipment marketplace and product requirements to establish formal test plans and test cases for the certification of new and existing products. Performed the certification testing of the new products in preparation for the release to sales representatives and customers. Developed methods to automate test cases that were previously done manually. Quickly became a valued member of the software development team.• Defined, setup and administered a web based problem reporting system for the software development organization. Web system was easier to use and provided metrics for upper management.

Defined and developed Visual Basic Windows program that simulated a high-speed marking engine. Simulator mimicked all marking engine functions necessary to develop a Front End software application, while at the same time logging all data to Access databases for analysis and characterization. Prototyped user interface components, which were then employed in usability studies to drive customer requirements and design. Reviewed and provided comments leading to the development of an interface to a high-speed scanner. Designed and developed three separate simulators to further the scanner development.Developed and instituted certification methods for High-Speed Digital Printers. Became a recognized expert in the area of printer emulations (especially PostScript), communications and applications. Served as a major contributor on several technical and project teams for major new Office Imaging Programs.
