In this role I work across the Capgemini business is how our services become data driven and what it will take to truly transform our clients into fully data driven enterprises. Understanding how AI is transforming Cyber defense, how automation is moving from 'screens' to outcomes and building the next generation of solutions where data and AI drive. The role was created specifically to ensure that data is not a single practice within Capgemini but becomes something systemic across our business, and the business of our clients.Part of the role includes how AI Trust will be defined and managed, ensuring that AI is executed in line with the business objectives, ethical concerns and regulatory constraints the organization requires.

With AI taking control of more business functions the challenge of trusting AI is increasing. My role is to work across our group, from people creating manufacturing robots and using AI in drug discovery, through to marketing communications to ensure that the AIs that are created are trusted. Trust means accountability of the AI, which means the team creating it ensures there is a clear owner, that its boundaries are clearly identified and the business, regulatory and ethical concerns are met.

CTO and GSO responsible for ensuring higher growth rates across the global Insights and Data business in a way that can be executed more consistently and more profitably. In the next generation of cloud-centric data platforms its crucial for our clients that we help them move rapidly towards industrialized cloud native foundations that can infuse data across their business. My role is to ensure that our sales, technical execution and partner strategy is aligned to that goal.

Responsible for Capgemini's North American Insights and Data business. The Insights and Data (I&D) practice is a full service global business line within Capgemini that covers the full information lifecycle from data ingestion and access, through management, governance and strategy to data science and advanced AI. My role as the leader of the North American practice is to deliver double digit growth and create an organisation capable of addressing some of the most complex information challenges in the market today. The team works across all sectors, outside of financial services, in North America and represents several thousand people working for our clients today.In a 12 month turn around focus I led the team to an over 20% absolute improvement in growth and reduced attrition by over 5%.

Global - Us Based

Responsible for Capgemini's global AI Engineering division a team of over 3,000 engineers focused on creating the next generation Big Data platforms and industrialised approaches that enable business to much more quickly adopt AI technologies and concentrate on the value that they want to deliver.Capgemini's approach to AI Engineering is to focus on the standardisation and industrialisation of the major challenge of AI - getting the data in, ensure the data is correct and then ensuring the insight is delivered to the right end-point. This includes:- AI platform provisioning and management- Industrialized ingestion- DevOps and DevOps 4 Data- Migration to Big Data services- Automation of testing, reconciliation and other non-functional elements- Real-time eventing and integrationA core part of Capgemini's approach to AI engineering is the shift away from traditional BI delivery models towards new digital centric approaches based on business service architectures, microservices and automated through the use of Dev Ops. Helping customers not simply to transform their data landscape but also transform the way they deliver data projects.

Global - Us Based

Responsible for the leadership, transformation and management of Capgemini's Big Data business from multiple regional teams into a single global organisation that has more than tripled its sales rate in the first two years. Moving from regional teams to a global team covering all sectors and with over 2,000 dedicated Big Data specialists in the Americas, Europe, India and Asia Pacific the business has been a major pull-through of work for other areas of the firm by taking an "Industrialised First" approach to delivering Big Data programs.Key to the approach of both growing the business but also delivering continued and sustained client success has been the ability to leverage global perspectives for local business problems. This comes from having a unified approach to Big Data and Data Science solution architecture and providing proven and consistent ways of not just delivering analytical value but reducing operational costs over traditional data solutions.

Responsible for defining and growing the work between Capgemini and Pivotal. The role involves the establishment of a Centre of Excellence in Bangalore and Pune and the creation of business development organisations in North America, Europe and South America.

Responsible for the messaging and approach on Big Data and Analytics across the Capgemini group. This includes creating a unifying message around information and how the next generation of information driven systems will change the way that businesses work.

Global

Responsible for the co-ordiation and establishment of Capgemini's global MDM offers including the scaling of the offshore Centre of Excellence and the publication and industrialisation of a business centric method for MDM consulting and delivery. Grew the MDM centre of excellence to several hundred staff (from zero) and created a global network of MDM leaders across the group. Successfully turned MDM from being a niche offer into a significant overall business and delivered triple digit growth from 2010 into 2014 and transitioned the work from 'growth' to 'Business as Usual' for the group.

Solution Director responsible for project establishment of multi-discipline and multi-geography programmes at the >$50m budget level

Responsible for changing how Capgemini worked and selected partners to drive innovation and business. Created a new model for partner selection that focused on future revenue and profitability growth and established early stage partnerships with the likes of VMWare to lay the foundations for transformation from a traditional DC business towards a cloud management business.

Originally Head of SOA for Capgemini's Global Outsourcing division I took over the SaaS role as part of the Google partnership. Focus is on the strategic direction of SOA and SaaS for customers and outsourcers and how it can be used to align IT spend more closely to the business value it provides.During this time I defined the group approach towards the SaaS and Cloud markets and created the foundations for the group's transition towards these new technology areas. Working with Amazon, Salesforce.com on the cloud/SaaS area and traditional vendors such as Microsoft, Oracle, IBM and SAP on how their technologies could be licensed and supported in these new environments.Another key part of the role was the strategy for Application Outsourcing where I worked on how SOA, SaaS and other elements were changing Application Outsourcing and defined a new joined up approach between Application Run/Operations and Application Development. At the time the group had two separate divisions for Run and Development and this work provided a framework that enabled the two to be considered as a continuum. The group moved to a unified management structure a couple of years after this work completed.

I was asked to manage the launch of the Capgemini and Google relationship. This involved bringing together the internal stakeholders with Google to help create a coherent and viable market proposition. This was then turned into a customer and marketing launch campaign where I was responsible for the strategic view on where Google Apps could take a business and the impact of SaaS on collaborative working. Finally I was the North America spokesperson for the launch being quoted in several major publications.

Solution Director for a large Oracle UCM MDM programme integrating over 300 systems and migrating over 50 current customer masters into a single package solution.

Responsible for sales and strategy around .NET, Java and mobile technologies. Grew all businesses and significantly raised the profile of Capgemini in the market including presenting during the Keynote of JavaOne in 2006. Involved working on strategic transformation deals and raising the profile of Capgemini in the application development market. During this period I acted as a customer advisor to IBM's SOA Product Division, particularly around IBM WebSphere ESB and IBM WebSphere Process Server, was an advisor to Microsoft around Visual Studio .NET and worked with BEA and Oracle on strategy for RFID and SOA technologies.Capgemini group's executive sponsor for Capgemini's membership of the OASIS and Java Community Process standards bodies and a regular presenter at key conferences including during the Keynote of JavaOne 2006.

Took over a unit with 60% utilisation and zero sales and in 18 months turned it into 90%+ utilisation, significant team growth and over £30m in bookings. Personally led the sale of the first offshore Java project at Capgemini UK and then over saw my team's delivery of the solution. Sold the first onshore/offshore framework deal at a large Utility and then became the Solution Director/Enterprise Architect for the engagement.

Simulation and R&D on Air Traffic Control futures, the work involved a combination of Ada, C and C++ development. Two key projects were the development of an automated pilot for the ATC simulator which reduced the need to pay real pilots during simulations and the creation of the first desktop based simulator, created by wrapping the full-simulator in a series of CORBA services and enabling it to work on a single machine.
