About Steve Johnson
I started my career in finance at Sander Associates, Inc., a Nashua based defense electronics firm. Through a variety of financial positions including corporate treasury and operational controller positions I was asked to lead an intitative around wireless communications in 1998. In 1999 I was asked to find a mechanism for spinning out this effort into a private company. After raisng over $50M in the private equity markets I ran the resulting company, Transcept, Inc. for two years. I was asked to join a boutique consulting firm, Abrena, Inc., which was focused on helping Scandinavian firms enter the US market. One of the firms that I assisted was Ingate Systems AB, who asked me to join the firm full time in 2002 to lead its growing business in the US.
