I started Rail Asset Development Ltd in April 2018 offering support to developers, designers and contractors who are working on or around Network Rail, London Underground and London Overground railway assets in the UK. Since then we have provided support for dozens of different schemes, each time tailoring our services to match the needs of our client. That sometimes means just a helping hand for a couple of days, and at other times it means being involved through the pre-construction period to help the team design out risk, then carrying through to project delivery and managing the railway approvals process.The support we can offer includes:1. engineering support to meet railway requirements for design and RAMS submissions; 2. value engineering (25% overall cost saving at Bounds Green and 15% at Crystal Palace);3. rail interface advice (reducing time, cost and safety risks) This role draws on the experience that I have gained over 30 years in the industry, half of which has been specifically in and around the rail environment. I have been CEM or Technical Approver for over 60 schemes over the last 15 years, ranging in value from £500k to £275m.I have been a Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers for over 20 years, and in 2020 I was accepted as Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building.I am supported by Jim Todd, who has 40 years' experience of railway and civil engineering project delivery and two further part time staff members.
