Former Senior Advisor, Sustainable Land Imaging Partnership Development
Responsible for developing the policy, practices, and business model applied to the Landsat International Cooperator (IC) Network of ground receiving stations for current and future missions to facilitate exploitation of Landsat data for regional and local applications around the world and to exercise U.S. leadership in land remote sensing and resource management technology and applications. Serve as the mission interface to the U.S. Department of State in the execution of USGS Circular 175 authority to enter into Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) with foreign governments, negotiate and author MOUs with each nation participating in the Landsat IC Network, and administer the terms of the MOUs.Lead USGS EROS activities for the Committee on Earth Observation Satellites (CEOS) and other related activities. Coordinate and optimize EROS participation in the Bureau's responsibilities to agency-level committees and related activities, including the CEOS Plenary, Strategic Implementation Team (SIT), Working Groups, Virtual Constellations, and related leadership opportunities. Develop and lead a CEOS agenda that can leverage the Landsat IC Network interactions and continue to utilize both international groups to move forward on USGS and EROS strategic goals.Responsible for developing international, interagency, and commercial partnerships for enhancing the Sustainable Land Imaging (SLI) Program’s data and capabilities beyond those of the core Landsat missions. Explore the use of partnerships external to the USGS to support identified user needs for both data and capabilities, which are currently underserved or unsupported by USGS systems or those which USGS has access to, including but not limited to high-altitude, long-duration aircraft, commercial cloud, and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (Al/ML) technologies.
