Pastor: Preaching, Teaching, Spiritual Formation, Small Group Ministry, and CounselingI have been involved in Christian ministry in church, parachurch, and educational settings for more than a decade, challenging Christians to move past a stagnant spiritual “cul-de-sac” to a gospel driven missional lifestyle. I love preaching God’s word and making scripture understandable, relevant, and applicable to life. I am an experienced leader and coordinator of small group ministries as well as a trained counselor to people of all ages and diverse socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds.I am passionate about helping Christians grow to spiritual maturity through the power of the Spirit joined with the truth of God's Word. We live in a world full of alienation and suffering and I long to be a part of mobilizing God's people to bring help and hope. I love developing new leaders, encouraging others to find hope in the midst of struggles, and caring for the poor and marginalized. The only way to accomplish this is through the gospel. The gospel must be at the heart of any Christian ministry, applicable to both believers and unbelievers. Gospel preaching sees Christ as the “telos” of every scripture passage and Christ as the hero of every story. Biblical counseling relates the gospel to every situation and is the foundation for true healing. The goal of the Christian life is to become more like Jesus in thought, word, and deed. We can only truly progress in our faith as our hearts are transformed by the grace of God found in the gospel.My skills are teaching, preaching, vision, discipleship, organization, administration, small group leadership, team orientation, conflict management, counseling, writing, and training.
