During my time as Deputy OIC and CIO at the RAN School of Survivability and Ship Safety I was closely involved in the statuatory training responsibility that Defence has to prepare all RAN seafarers in safety at sea. The role involved overseeing training at three campuses namely in JBT, VIC and WA.

I returned to full time service as a Naval Officer taking on this role at the Larrakeyah Defence Precinct in Darwin. In addition to being the Security Officer I was deeply involved in the day to day management and many special projects at this important Defence base. I was also involved with the Patrol Boat Group during this period.

Initially starting with 38 trailers and two Utes for rent in Sydney, I quickly expanded to 60 Utes and 40 vans for rent in Sydney, Canberra, and Newcastle.In this position, I took full responsibility for operational and business development functions, managing a team of 15 team members while at the same time improving their performance, and mentoring agents and other stakeholders. Other accountabilities included maintaining records, documentation, and legal paperwork, and identifying opportunities to utilise resources more effectively. My key achievements include: ❐ Established an offshore call centre, a ground-breaking accomplishment for the business.❐ Maximised revenue from $70k to $1.4M / year.❐ Enlisted many new agents for the business both interstate and intrastate.❐ Built outstanding relationships with agents over long periods of time.❐ Implemented novel systems in Australia, Rental Car Manager and Rent Centric, plus multiple systemised processes.
