Oversees all aspects of pharmacy, medication, and oncology related configuration and implementation in Epic. Serves dual role as Technical and Application Coordinator for both Rx and Oncology.Key Contributions:Provides design, build, technical, and managerial support for the application team. Manages task assignments for this team, which consists of nursing, pharmacists, technicians, and IT analysts.Corresponds with hospital administration on policy and procedural changes, and facilitates discussions regarding those changes. Played lead role in reaching CMS re-imbursement requirements for e-prescribing, and currently assisting in providing gap analysis in meaningful use requirements. Raised the level of medication charge revenue at Pharmacy/EMAR go-live. Develops reports and reporting solutions for clinical and administrative monitoring via Epic and 3rd party tools. Manages 3rd party integration within the Epic product, including any and all technical and regulatory aspects. Build and support responsibilities include Surescripts e-prescribing, Micromedex and First DataBank drug reference integration. Successful in meeting all go-live dates including Pharmacy/EMAR and medication charging in February 2009, CPOE (ambulatory medication, preference list, and e-prescribing build) in May 2009, and Adult Oncology in October 2009.Successfully mapped and converted all patient allergies for interfacing from home-grown system to Epic, prior to go-live.

Promoted to code and manage a wireless patient safety function for blood tracking via PowerBuilder and PL/1. Guided a diverse team of clinicians and IT staff. Subsequently took over IT Medication Management responsibilities as well, which included writing software solutions for prescriptions, allergies, and immunizations in a home-grown system. Key Contributions:Represented IT in enterprise-wide projects, including Medication Reconciliation and Bar Coded Blood Administration. Presented systems to staff including nurses, physicians, pharmacists, and administration. Also presented systems externally to AHRQ, HIMSS, consultants and vendors.Designed, programmed and implemented a software solution for stocking, dispensing, labeling and documenting medication samples in the home-grown system. Represented clinical applications in UIHC's wireless initiative. Played a major role in selecting, configuring and testing wireless equipment and ancillary wireless devices - laptops, COWs, barcode scanners, wristband labels, and Zebra label printers.

PowerBuilder and mainframe programmer on home-grown system. Functions included patient registration and clinical documentation applications, both batch and on-line solutions. Key Contributions:Collaborated on a team to design, program and implement a mainframe application for a multi-resource scheduling function. Designed a client-server protocol application for orthopedics physicians. These protocols track a patient through an extended period and queue both the scheduler and the provider. Developed a client-server tool for documentation in UIHC's clinical information system, which enabled clinicians to automate note writing.
