VidSys is the leading provider of Security Operations Center Information Management software that enables cross vendor video integration, event correlation/detection, and situation awareness/management for top-tier public sector agencies and enterprises worldwide.Joined shortly after company was spun off from a DC-based system integration firm to provide technical and architectural leadership for all product development efforts and evaluate legacy product for suitability in new and broader markets. Recommended and led design and architecture of the company’s new Physical Security Information Mangement product (PSIM) incorporating multi-vendor video surveillance with state-of-the art event correlation. Led successive projects to expand the capabilities, security, scale, and reliability of the product, while driving architecture, design, and technology decisions.- Led architectural and development efforts to deliver first PSIM product that became best-in-class in the industry.- Drove technology architecture for the next generation product that incorporated customer specific features and enhancements. Product continued to achieve best-in-class status.- 4 patents issued.

The Content Networking Business Unit was responsible for the delivery of content (video, business data) to the edge. Products included content distribution networks (CDN), pre-positioning, streaming video, as well as branch office to HQ network optimization, and TCP/IP optimization technologies.Upon Cisco’s acquisition of SightPath, became the BU’s Lead Architect overseeing a team of 200+ US-based engineers and off-shore contractors challenged with driving product design, architecture, implementation, and successful delivery of enterprise and service provider products. Products were delivered on schedule, with annual revenue >$100M.- Leveraged and integrated SightPath’s product into Cisco’s enterprise product line, which created additional product pull through. - Architected, designed, developed, and shipped new service-provider product incorporating SightPath’s technology.- Led technology team that investigated and recommended new strategies and directions for the BU, resulting in an $80M+ acquisition of Actona Technologies.- As member of the BU’s Patent Review Board, made recommendations on which patents Cisco should pursue.- 7 patents issued.

SightPath was an early-stage start-up focused on developing the world’s first Content Delivery Network (CDN) for companies to stream tv-quality video over the internet.As Architect and Team Lead, delivered SightPath’s first content delivery enterprise offering enabling a TV-like experience at the edge of the network and propelling SightPath’s revenue to >$1M in less than 2 years, resulting in Cisco’s acquisition of the company for $800M.

OpenMarket was an early provider of internet commerce, access control, and monitoring software used by leading edge e-commerce websitesLed architecture and design of Open Market’s session identifier technology, enabling session tracking and access control, for OM-Axcess and OM-Transact products. Open Market had a successful IPO with a market cap >$1B. - Architected, designed, developed and deployed session identifier technology for Time Warner’s Pathfinder website, Open Market’s first large customer.- Transferred session identifier technology from a “one off” design for Pathfinder to a core product offering, which was sold as the OM-Axcess product and used in the Open Market OM-Transact product. - Patent: USPTO 5708780, "Internet Server Access Control and Monitoring Systems," was granted in January, 1998 for session and access control.
