Over 35 years extensive experience of financial services gained through blue chip professional advisory, legal and industry roles.Providing advice to Boards, Excos and senior management on governance, risk management, compliance, ESG and operational resilience; balancing the need to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements but with a commercially sensitive approach.Working closely with firms to help them develop and grow their businesses whilst meeting ever increasing and changing regulatory requirements, I provide support which is both forward and backward looking. Experience includes:• Advice/support in respect of the impact of future regulatory change (eg Consumer Duty). Enabling firms to organise and plan to minimise its impact on business as usual and where possible use it to gain competitive advantage. • Strategic design and review of essential risk infrastructures/frameworks including governance, compliance, conduct, financial crime, operational resilience, ESG and operational resilience.• Advice/support for Fintech start-ups in obtaining regulatory authorisations and the creation of scalable, agile governance and risk frameworks. • Design and delivery of large remediation programmes and the provision of independent oversight of firms past business reviews. • Advice / support to firms who are the subject of regulatory investigations and/or enforcement action. • Management of several large s166 investigations on behalf of the regulator. • Detailed regulatory risk due diligence exercises and post purchase strategic planning and business change.
