With Quorum’s acquisition of the Phoenix IP from Woodlands Solutions, I was retained to oversee the transition of the software, assist in building the ETRM product line, lead efforts to move features from Quorum’s legacy applications into Phoenix, collaborate with Quorum’s technical leadership to define integration strategies for Quorum’s diverse suite of products, and train Quorum staff in the Phoenix architecture as well as ETRM and energy marketing concepts in general.

Left Ventyx to start a commercial software company focused on building, from the ground up, a multi-commodity, multi-currency, service oriented Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) solution called Phoenix ETRM. The solution was named Best Newcomer by Energy Risk Magazine in 2012. Among other things, I was directly responsible for prototyping, evaluating and eventually defining the Phoenix architecture and technology stack which became a layered, service oriented architecture (SOA) utilizing Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) services with a Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) user interface written in C#. In early 2014, Quorum Business Solutions purchased the Phoenix IP retaining me to oversee the software transition and integration with Quorum's existing energy applications.

With Ventyx’s acquisition of New Energy Associates in October of 2007, I was promoted and assigned responsibility for managing the development of a suite of packaged Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) applications utilizing development teams in Houston, Atlanta, Sacramento, and London. Also responsible for managing a multi-million dollar investment in the ETRM solution area to migrate various legacy products into a single, service oriented architecture utilizing Microsoft .Net technologies including Windows Communication Foundation (WCF), Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), and Windows Workflow.

With the acquisition of Woodlands Technology by New Energy Associates in January 2004, I continued to manage the application development of a packaged Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) solution called Monaco.

Woodlands Technology was a software start-up founded in May of 2000 to develop a next generation, browser-based, n-tier ETRM system called Monaco. I joined Woodlands Technology in May of 2001 as a principal member of the firm, participating in all aspects of managing the firm as well as all aspects of the design, development, and management of the software product.
