I devote my energy to hard challenges with a big impact. My comprehensive background in research, design, reliability and maintenance of complex mechanical devices presents numerous opportunities for life improving solutions. I strive to apply these skills to pioneer the energy transition. Continuous improvement of mechanical systems and the processes that protect them recurs throughout my career. I developed practical and theoretical knowledge in vibrations, rotordynamics and machine condition monitoring while studying and working at Texas A&M University. These skills helped launch my Schlumberger career. Early, I leveraged my experiences from A&M to develop electrical submersible pumps. As my product development skills grew, I extended my design scope to Wireline tools. Through ten years of engineering, I earned ten US patents. These patents serve as a monument to technical achievement, but also as a reminder of the innovators I encounter. Since 2011, my machine diagnostic skills and design background have combined to focus on maintenance programs and reliability. As a fully trained Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) facilitator, I led the development of maintenance programs for new products as well as the retooling of the maintenance program of one of Schlumberger’s flagship services, MDT. This RCM success story supports a three-fold improvement in incident rates while reigning in maintenance costs. Next, I embraced the opportunity to directly apply my maintenance knowledge as Maintenance Manager in Norway. I enjoyed the challenge of leading a talented team of more than fifty maintenance professionals to service and repair Schlumberger’s portfolio of Wireline equipment in Europe. Then, returning to the US, I also returned to product development as the Reliability Engineering Manager for Completions. In this role, I directed the reliability activities for new, permanently-installed mission critical wells equipment. I applied reliability engineering techniques such as failure modes and effect analysis (FMEA), root cause analysis (RCA), system reliability modeling, and fault tree analysis (FTA) within a concurrent product development structure to deliver new products that meet or exceed reliability requirements.
