CCPT is dedicated to promoting the healing and comfort that pet therapy provides, through support and education for our certified working teams, and building connections between volunteers, facilities and recipients of animal assisted activity/therapy. From a dozen original teams serving a handful of facilities, to more than 250 certified therapy animal teams serving about 200 partner facilities in North and Central Jersey in less than 10 years, CCPT currently logs over 3,700 visits per year, directly affecting close to 75,000 lives. Our partner clients include United Airlines, Atlantic Health System, Summit Health, and numerous universities, public, private and special needs schools.

Therapy Dog Team Handler For St. Hubert'S Paws For People ProgramSt. Hubert'S Animal Welfare Center Sep 2005 - Nov 2011Active volunteer therapy dog team handler and special projects contributor for one of the nation's most respected animal welfare centers, located in Madison, NJ. My Labradoodle and I have worked at 25 different facilities in five counties thus far, including frequently at Overlook Medical Center in Summit, nursing homes/assisted living, libraries, Lincoln Elementary School in Newark where the pupils read to the dogs as part of the curriculum, the VA campus in Lyons, NJ, UMDNJ's Behaviorial Health Sciences Center, Children's Specialized Hospital in Mountainside, NJ, and other specialized schools. Additionally, we have been asked regularly to speak at the workshop for new candidates for incoming PFP classes and have also been guest speakers for various organizations in New Jersey and Maine. My dog and I, along with other PFP teams, are also on call as part of the Northeast Crisis Response Coalition, an umbrella group of therapy dog organizations. In July 2011, my dog received national recognition from the American Kennel Club as the first non-purebred certified working therapy dog in the United States to be given the new "ThD" title for therapy dogs.
