As a U.S. Army Strategic Plans and Policy (Functional Area 59) officer, I led or participated in various long-range planning efforts for Army and joint organizations during combat operations to include the 2008 "Surge" in Iraq and aboard the U.S.S. Mt. Whitney off the coast of Libya in 2011. In addition to planning functions, I have lead joint and combined planning groups, integrated non-military or interagency partners into military operations, and executed high-level strategic and operational appraisals in support of national strategies and theater-level operational plans. I have experience educating Army and joint force personnel on strategy development, joint/interagency planning, and doctrine. Prior to serving as an FA 59, I served at the tactical level as a nuclear, biological, and chemical officer (MOS 74A), and was privileged to command Headquarters & Headquarters Detachment (HHD), 84th Chemical Battalion, at both Fort Bragg, NC, and Fort Polk, LA.
