About Steven Lang Rrc®

My purpose is to improve people around me through real honest leadership and communication. My personal values include integrity, realism, sharing, and determination. I have also taken the time to define each value.My career started in 2001 at Prospera Credit Union after two years completing a Financial Management Diploma at BCIT. My hard work, dedication, and drive lead me from a Service Representative (teller), to Financial Services Officer (generalist) with many positions in between over the 7 years at Prospera. From Prospera, I moved on to Citi Group where I was able to gain some valuable experience providing mortgages to families across Canada as a licensed mortgage sub-broker. This experience showed me the vast differences in the markets across the country and opened my eyes to alternative ways of providing solutions to clients. After Citi Group pulled this division out of Canada, I returned to Prospera. I spent the best years of my life as the Branch Manager at the West Oaks Branch of Prospera where I enjoyed helping staff, membership, organization and the branch grow. Development is at the top of my list as to why I came to work everyday. I was able to build action plans, have the team commit and then execute on the plans to deliver results for 3 consecutive years as the #1 Branch in Prospera based on financial performance and employee engagement scoring. After the Branch Manager role, I worked on a business owner strategy where I helped shape the future for our organization to empower business owners and their families while providing them the same care and attention that is known to be provided in other areas of the organization. I was also able to develop and hire the first team of Business Relationship Managers to start up our new division, called Local Business. This role helped me develop the strategic thinking needed to navigate throughout organizations. The next phase of my journey was as the Regional Director of the Fraser Valley Region leading 7 retail and wealth branches.As a Senior Leader, I have overseen large teams across an organization, developed & mentored many individuals, and worked on a vast array of organizational projects with the focus always being putting the customer/member first. As stated earlier, my personal values include integrity, realism, sharing, and determination which have been integral in engaging teams early on in new processes, technology or overall change.
