Senior Analyst for Allstate's Technology Finance organization. I consult directors in IT at Allstate on finance decisions related to employee and general operating expenses. In this position I provide monthly reports on overall financial strength/pressures and potential opportunity areas. This is accomplished through detailed planning and forecasting, analysis of variances, and guidance on financial impact of various staffing models.In addition to my normal consulting tasks, I have become the Excel guru of Allstate Technology Finance. I have developed an expert level understanding of Excel, and I am often requested to tackle the most complex problems with the financial models used by Tech Finance. Many issues range from creating dynamic drop-downs to fixing broken Macros, all the way to making files smaller and more efficient. One file was over 24,000 kb, required over 3 minutes to open, and took several seconds just to navigate through different cells. After updating the file it was less than 500 kb and had improved functionality and speed (no lag while opening or navigating).I have also been asked to lead an Excel course where I will teach 2 classes, beginner & advanced, to other Analysts in Tech Finance. Through this effort I hope to create more Excel gurus to deepen the knowledge of one of the most important tools we have at our disposal.
