I fulfilled the statutory duties of the Harbour Master and ensured the Board's full compliance with the Port Marine Safety Code. This was a key role within the Board's Executive Management Team.Within this role I was responsible for all maritime operations within the Port of Dover, the largest ferry port in Europe and one of the busiest cruise ports in the UK. My responsibilities included managing the day to day maritime operations of the Port, Port Vessels (which totalled, 2 Tugs, a Dredger, 2 Pilot Launches and a Survey/Workboat), a VTS Centre, along with the running of an award winning Marina. I managed a team of 50+ marine professionals, including 6 Duty Harbour Master/Pilots.

Within this role I was responsible for DCL’s worldwide deployment & itinerary planning setup, which included building and managing the Company's relationship with Port Authorities & Port Agents worldwide, for Ports to which DCL's cruise vessels called to or indeed may have called to in future years.
