Jan - May 2017 Defence ICT Project ManagerChief Information Officer Group Project Lead for the support to the Joint Project 9111 Joint Command and Control preparing for Investment Committee consideration and the break-down of the initial work packages to support the transformation of Command and Control applications to the new Defence Network Environment. This includes ICT services and infrastructure within the fixed strategic environment. Mar - Nov 2017 - Defence ICT Project ManagerProject Lead for the support to the Joint Project 2221 Multi-National Information Sharing, $250+ million, initially preparing for Investment Committee consideration through to the preparation of the initial Tranche for a Combined Pass Government consideration within eight months. This included strategic business advice on establishing the enduring capability and project management support to prepare relevant documentation. In addition, stakeholder engagement was supported including to prepare for, and managing, key committees and steering groups, briefing senior Defence Officers, Senior Government Advisors and Cabinet Ministers. The support delivered strategic alignment, development and remediation of the Joint Project 2221 Project Document Suite. Jan - Mar 2017 Systems Engineer support to the New Zealand Defence Forces’ Network Enabled Program in developing a report and models for the indicative spectrum requirements of a deployed Task Group in a high intensive complex environment. The report comprised a combination of the graphical, tabular and geospatial views that provided a useful representation of the force to analyse spectrum requirements and communicate findings. The models were useful to support a range of capability development decisions, such as provisioning, and to wargame the solution design against a range of deployment scenarios of the amount and type of spectrum required.

As the Project Manager, Land Tactical Communications Network (Staff Officer Grade 2 Project LAND 200 Capability Implementation Team) I am responsible for the progression of the associated Project LAND 200 Tranche 1 and 2 sub-projects and programs. This involves representing Army either on behalf of the Capability Manager or as a key stakeholder providing guidance and advice to the other project stakeholders; Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group, Army Functional Commands and the wider Defence organisation and/ or industry regarding Army's capability needs and requirements. This requires regular engagement with stakeholders and attendance at various conferences, working groups and Integrated Project Teams. I am responsible for the analysis and compilation of high level correspondence for Director, and Chief Executive Officer relating to Army's position on project LAND 200 and wider Communication Information System projects, policies and procedures. Additionally, I am responsible for the support to the development of the Project Document Suite, support to Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group tender evaluations and Offer Definition Improvement Activities and, Army Functional Commands in facilitating Introduction into Service and addressing Fundamental Inputs to Capability implications.

As a Trial Manager for the Australian Defence Test and Evaluation Office I was responsible for the management and conduct of Defence Trials and other minor test and evaluation activities. I was also frequently called upon to provide advice to the Defence Organisation on Defence Trial policy and procedures including costing and planning test and evaluation activities in support of the capability acquisition process.I was formally recognised for my contributions to capability development through Test and Evaluation by the awarding of a Gold Commendation from the Chief of Capability Development Group in 2015.

A senior manager accountable for administering a $1m operational budget, management and training of 120 personnel, and ongoing asset management of 4 military facilities, 20 vehicles and 15 marine vessels, including maintenance, supervision and meeting of safety regulations.I provided support to border security of North Queensland (Cloncurry to the West, south to Cardwell and north to the Croydon) as part of a whole-of government effort.Administering the overall management of personnel training, ensuring competency gaps met, qualifications maintained, ongoing assessment of training needs analyses, and keeping professional development targeting cultural and organisational needs.Additionally, I was responsible for the writing and implementation of strategic plans, risk appetite, Standard Operating Procedures and Indigenous Community Engagement Plans. This was monitored with constant review/monitoring to ensure effectiveness.
