-Exercise responsibility for the welfare of 145 Marines in Company C. -Exercise tactical control of the company during field training and/or while deployed at such times when the company is displacing or transitioning positions. -Serve as the Regimental Staff Engineer advising the supported Regimental Commander on all engineering matters in garrison, during field training, and/or while deployed. -Enhance or develop processes, in coordination with the Operations Officer, that support the effectiveness of the Battalion to conduct combat engineering operations in garrison, during field training, and/or while deployed. -Ensure the operational readiness of equipment.-Drive an aggressive, comprehensive, and systematic company level training plan that supports, and is in synchronization with, the larger Battalion Annual Training Plan. -Accomplish other requirements as directed by the Commanding Officer.

-Supervise the planning, preparation, execution, and post-operation activities of the company's operations and training.-Serve as Security Forces Anti-terrorism and Force Protection officer for international exercises coordinating with host nation forces. -Develop and supervise the execution of the Company training plan in coordination with supported Division units. -Conduct weekly staff meetings for the company to facilitate the information flow between the company commander, staff, and platoons.-Supervise platoons and company staff to ensure a strict accountability and routine inspections/evaluations completed for all assigned personnel, military equipment, weapons and optics, and classified materials to ensure mission readiness.-Ensure detailed and timely submission of all external support requirements.-Assume Company Command duties as required.

-Ensure the platoon remains in a state of operational readiness, able to provide the Battalion, Division, and the Marine Expeditionary Force with organic mechanical and explosive breaching capabilities.-Provide guidance to the Mobility Assault Company Commander on the planning, preparation, and execution of breaching operations in support of Battalion and Division Efforts.-Serve as a liaison for supported units and international partners to promote positive relations.-Plan for, identify, and correct any deficiencies that would diminish the platoon's ability to provide effective support.-Manage a training program in accordance with the Marine Corps Individual and Collective Training Standards and the Battalion's mission essential task list. -Supervise the accountability, safety, combat effectiveness, overall health, welfare, and professional development of the Marines assigned to the Assault Breaching Platoon.

-Supervise the tactical employment of Combat Engineers in support of battalion operations. -Advise supported Battalion Commanders and staff on all aspects of engineering and the capabilities of a combat engineer platoon. -Coordinate the supply and sustainment of platoon during training exercises and when operating in support of units. -Develop the appropriate appendix/annexes for the maneuver elements operation plans. -Train Marines to meet Combat Engineer and Infantry Training and Readiness Standards as required.-Maintain accountability for platoon weapons, personnel, and gear, by conducting monthly inventories.-Manage all administrative tasks while maintaining good order and discipline. -Lead and mentor all 29 Marines within the platoon and supporting elements.

The Marine Corps Engineer School (MCES) delivers approved engineer focused programs of instruction at the entry and supervisory levels in order to prepare officer and enlisted engineers for duty with the Operating Force. Additionally, MCES serves as the service lead for Counter Improvised Explosive Device Defeat the Device (C-IED DtD) training. MCES serves as an expert in engineer education, training, doctrine and requirements development with the Doctrine, Organization, Training, Materiel, Leadership and Education, Personnel, and Facilities process.

Train and educate newly commissioned or appointed officers in the high standards of professional knowledge, esprit-de-corps, and leadership to prepare them for duty as company grade officers in the operating forces, with particular emphasis on the duties, responsibilities, and warfighting skills required of a rifle platoon commander.
