Performance Responsibilities:Assist the Army Senior Instructor with the JROTC program to ensure that the program meets all goals and objectives. Assist with teaching JROTC curriculum, particularly with the Leadership Education portion of the program including drill and ceremonies, principles of leadership and management, and communication skills. Assist in the classroom by giving and grading tests, giving career and performance counseling, and supervising Cadet activities. Participate in extracurricular assignments and duties as other teachers, such as homeroom, hall monitor, lunch duty, etc. Serve as Military Property Specialist and be responsible for uniforms and equipment as well as other administrative matters. Be involved in community relations. Serve as a liaison with other Army and civilian agencies and community groups. Assist with extensive extracurricular programs, such as a military ball, co-curricular competition, Cadet newspaper, drill team, honor guard, parades, flag raising/retreat ceremonies, presentation of awards, fund raising activities for the unit or charitable institutions, and rocket club.

WARRIOR LEADER COURSE (WLC) formerly called Primary Leadership Development Course (PLDC), is the first leadership course Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) attend. WLC is a month-long course that teaches Specialists and Corporals the basic skills to lead small groups of Soldiers. This course is hard hitting and intensive with emphasis on leadership skills and prepares Soldiers to advance to the rank of Sergeant.The course topics include:LeadershipTraining ManagementMap ReadingLand NavigationDrill and CeremonyWarfightingThis course is not MOS dependent. It is taught at an NCO Academy. WLC students live at the Academy for the duration of training that combines classroom instruction with practical application in the field.

The primary mission of the Army master gunner is to aid and assist commanders at all echelons in the planning, development, execution, and evaluation of all crew-served weapons related training (individual, crew, and collective).The master gunner's specific duties are directed by the commander. Examples of his duties are:Develop or conduct training and certification of vehicle crew evaluators (VCE).Assist all elements within the unit concerning gunnery training (IAW FM 3.20-21).Forecast all ammunition and ranges for training.Manage gunnery records, Gunnery Skills Testing (GST) records, and turbulence rosters.Coordinate and control training devices.Execute gunnery training.Supervise live-fire ranges to ensure all standards are followed; specifically:Confirm screening and zero techniquesCoordinate target arrays, exposure times for all targets, and maneuver box verificationSet up all ranges to make sure they meet the standards set forth in this manualSet up and conduct GST training, and evaluate the results.Advise the commander of the tactical capabilities of all weapons and weapon systems.The master gunner's main responsibilities are listed above, but may change in scope, depending on the level that he is assigned. The master gunner should not be assigned additional duties other than those listed here. Unit gunnery training programs need a great deal of attention to be effective.

Section Leader/MOS 11BSection leader of a mechanized infantry section in USAREUR; prepares section to deploy to tactical environments; responsible for the individuals of his section and their collective training; responsible for the accountability and maintenance of all assigned equipment; ensures the combat readiness of the section to accomplish the platoon mission; responsible for the health and welfare of six section members and their families; responsible for equipment in excess of 2.4 million dollars.

Operates both mounted and dismounted to close with and destroy the enemy. Employs, operates, and maintains assigned weapons and equipment. Employs proper dismounted movement techniques, cover, concealment, and camouflage as part of dismount team. Performs basic communication functions and operates platoon communications equipment. Constructs individual fighting positions. Collects and reports tactical information as member of combat or reconnaissance patrol. Assists in target detection, identification, and round sensing. Assist in the breaching of minefields and obstacles.
