About Steven Walston

My Wife, Mandie, and I moved to Oklahoma City in November of 2017. I took a brief break from working to complete my last semester of college and earn my Bachelors of Science. I graduated in March of 2018 with Bachelors in Biblical & Theological Studies form Liberty University.I founded Big Buns Bakery out of my 900 square foot apartment in 2018. Within a period of three years Big Buns Bakery had two locations, and a wholesale business with a list of clients that ranged from other coffee shops, fine dining restaurants, two farmers markets, four grocery stores, and an online delivery service encompassing Tulsa and Oklahoma City and their respective greater metro areas.I love leading leaders and teaching teachers. My passion is maximize profits but to maximize people.I am a true believer in Jesus Christ. As such I believe that everything I do must be driven by a passion to know Him and make Him known. Although I am not perfect I know that the Lord has called me to love those in need of love (in order to show His love for them) and to provide for those who cannot provide for themselves. I realize that we have a more diverse society with a more diverse set of beliefs than ever before in human history. I respect that others do not believe what I believe, and I would never treat anybody I meet with anything other than the utmost respect and dignity that they deserve however, I still believe that Jesus Christ is the only way to true salvation and an abundant (not monetarily but spiritually) life.

    I founded Big Buns Bakery out of my 900 sqft apartment in October 2018. I set out with a vision to recreate the cinnamon roll into something that was as crave-able as a donut with endless amounts of flavors. The company quickly grew and in 2020, during the pandemic, we opened our first location. Shortly after we expanded to a second location in March of 2021. Since that time we have sold over 40,000 buns, serviced over 1 dozen coffee shops, multiple grocery stores, and launched multiple successful product lines. I have had the distinct honor of employing dozens of amazing people over the past 2 years. It has been my greatest privilege to serve them and to serve our guests everyday.
