Appointed as CFO of UNICEF UK in April 20 and following interim CEO position became CFO again from January 2022. The role is responsible for the finance, legal, procurement, data, digital, environment, risk and IT teams. Highlights include gaining the approval for a new ERP system, introducing a new data and digital strategy, sponsoring the Ukraine campaign that raised £50m in two months and providing the commercial analysis of the key business decisions required to grow and protect the organisation.

Stepped into the interim CEO role four months after joining UNICEF UK to initially stabilise, restructure and set a platform for growth in income, impact and influence. I joined UNICEF UK after the first lock down and led remotely for a large part of the time. Income increased by 48% (£45m) through a switch to digital fundraising, supporting innovation and leading with the Covax response. Other highlights include creating a new leadership team, deepening of the relationship between the board and the executive team, simplifying the organisation's structure to improve collaboration and quality of cross organisational campaigns, co-created with staff a new set of organisational values, and campaigned for Covid19 equity.

The financial reporting and forecasting processes were comprehensively upgraded - with the final step being the introduction of an agency CRM, production and finance system. At the end of project, Flamingo was leaner, focused and has profitably re-scaled considerably since this time.

Highlights to date involve a group restructure saving over £2.5m of annualised costs and the introduction of sound management information that is driving improved deal negotiations and boosting productivity.

Responsible for the financial performance of the companies within the group in South Africa and the rest of Sub-Saharan Africa. The group employs over 700 people and includes the main advertising agency Hunt Lascaris, the largest Media Company in South Africa OMD, and eight marketing services companies. Managed two significant acquisitions and completed the set-up of a shared service centre for finance IT, HR and Legal services.

This included financial management, legal, HR, IT and board director responsibilities.Highlights included a restructure of the group to reduce costs and the successful upgrade of the production system that enabled management to improve margins.

Worked within the Diversified Agency Services division of Omnicom Group Inc in the UK. As a group CFO, provided commercial support to three divisions and operated a shared service function that included finance, legal and IT. This structure enables the group businesses to have access to a highly qualified team of support experts that if they were on their own, would be difficult to afford. It was my goal to ensure each agency received the highest quality financial strategy and control, commercial negotiation and technology deployment.

Promoted to finance director of the Mustard (formerly ZGC) and M:Drive divisions of this marketing services company within 4 months. Following a merger of all of the UK operations owned by Mosaic Group Inc in January 2002, I was the commercial financial controller responsible for the forecasting, budgeting and profitability of the work going through the agency. The merger was not successful and the operation was closed by Mosaic Group Inc in December 2002.

Initially hired as the RCA label controller, with responsibilities for managing the spend of the marketing and A&R departments of over £30m. It was a very fast moving environment where the control of monies advances to artists and spend on the production and marketing of the music has a great impact on the profitability of the record label. I was promoted to Financial Controller of the BMG Music Publishing division in September 2008 where I ran the finance department during a profitable growth period. The role involved:•Preparation of detailed annual budget, monthly management reporting, monthly KPIs, statutory accounts and tax computations.•Financial evaluation of deals offered to artists and song catalogue purchases.

Ran internal audits for the music and film divisions of Warner Bros through-out the world. Highlights included being temporary finance director of the Thai Music company and involvement in an international pirating legal case.
