Child raising, home improvement and campaigningMy wife and I decided that we wanted to raise our child ourselves for his first few years. This time has been fantastic, but I’m an active person who always needs a project and so I’ve been very busy:-Campaigning with the Bristol Cycling Campaign, developing key messages, organising volunteers, writing PR, designing leaflets and other material.- Starting a new parent and toddler session in our community hall.- Building my own garden office, teaching myself electrics, plastering and supplier management.

An exciting role at a charity that’s making big changes. I managed a team of five people working on communications, PR, web and social media and advertising. I handled a decent budget and led on a host of new projects that took the Trust in new directions including:- Launching the Chocolate Quarter, a £70m new retirement community, care home and community hub with restaurants, swimming pool and great facilities. - Managing internal and external communications. - Developing new exciting events, AGMs, conferences and roadshows.

A great job at this Wiltshire Housing Association. My initial role was in communications and marketing before this expanded to cover community business development. I was part of the team that launched a new £2m subsidiary for repairs and maintenance. I managed the launch comms, creation of the new brand, its logo and related imagery for a fleet of 33 new vans. I developed a new tenant handbook by redesigning, rewriting and simplifying all 30 tenant leaflets to create a new pack that would work for them.

A maternity contract where I was the bid manager for numerous high profile bids including Barclays Bank, the Co-operative and central government organisations. Although I joined as maternity cover, I was asked to stay on and manage the team.

I was promoted twice at Bevan Brittan before becoming Business Development Manager. I provided a wide range of functions in the marketing department.
