A graduate of the University of San Francisco and Antioch University, Steve began his 16 year career with The Dow Chemical Company in Southern California. His polymer production experience, his work with Dow Research and Development and his position managing Environmental Affairs for Dow’s Southern California operations laid the groundwork for a great professional career. Steve went on to work with Dow’s legislative team in Sacramento California and served as Dow’s media contact person for all Southern California activities. His work with California lobbyists, influenced legislation in California and Washington DC and allowed him to take a giant step forward with his next employer Fluoro-Seal International. Steve developed regulations for polyethylene containers and gasoline fuel tanks on small off road engines. Eventually, moving these regulations across the country and finally adopted by Federal EPA, making them national regulations. His successes lead him from California to Fluoro-Seal’s Houston Texas headquarters, where he accepted a position as Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Government Affairs. Identifying markets and submarkets, Steve implemented marketing programs focused on uses for composite materials in oil and gas applications, agricultural chemicals and for containers in lawn and garden, automotive, agriculture, health and beauty, veterinary, IBC’s and tight head drums. His team worked with suppliers, distributors and end users and during his nine year tenure as Vice President, sales increased by 266 %. Steve was an active member in the Chemical Manufacturers Association, National Association of Container Distributors and a member of their Advisory Board for four years.
