I credit my military upbringing with my close attention to details. Clients say they don’t necessarily want to understand every detail themselves, but they appreciate that I’m paying attention. Originally from a small town in Alabama, both of my parents were active-duty Air Force, resulting in moves to Texas, Panama, Florida, back to Alabama and finally Tennessee. Anchored by family in Knoxville and love for the Vols, I graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Tennessee with a degree in Finance and a concentration in Economics. While in college, I worked as a financial analyst at Nissan North America and Whirlpool Corporation, focusing on cost reduction, financial statement analysis and minimizing credit risks/losses. After college, I worked for Merrill Lynch, Wells Fargo Advisors and Head Investment Partners running investment due diligence and constructing client portfolios. I founded Steven Alan Capital in 2019 with the vision to build a premier boutique investment management firm specializing in risk-mitigation portfolio design and investment strategies. While laying down roots here in East Tennessee, I enjoy getting away from time to time with family, playing golf and SCUBA diving.
