I currently work with a team of exceptional human rights defenders at the Validity Foundation, an international human rights organisation advancing the rights of people with mental disabilities in Europe and Africa.Validity uses international law to challenge some of the most widespread violations against people with intellectual disabilities and people with mental health issues. We tackle lifetime segregation and institutionalisation, promote inclusive education and support for all children, and argue that everyone has a right to author their own lives. All things many of us take for granted, but these basic rights are systematically denied to people with mental disabilities globally.I am the Executive Director responsible for planning and executing our domestic and international advocacy and litigation strategies, strengthening our evidence-base, formulating policy proposals at domestic and international arenas, forming and maintaining strategic coalitions and partnerships. I manage our communications, fundraising, public and media engagement plans, and ensure close alignment with our strategic litigation.
