The past 20 years I have spent primarily within the information technology world, supporting many different customers - both internally and externally - in many different capacities. I got my start through a technical writing assignment in which I built a manual for a graduate school institution trying to understand the mainframe software that was running their business. That led to a job working on a server farm supporting nightly data backups and learning on the fly! But once I figured out that job, wrote a manual to explain it, and saved the customer $400K I realized that asking questions and improving the way the job gets done is a needed skill in the I.T. space or any business. Since then I have continued to build up my technical skills, gained management experience, and worked with many different customers and businesses globally. My continued emphasis for the way I work is based on a tenet that then CEO Lou Gerstner told our small group of IBM manager school pupils one late March evening - "If you don't have passion for the business you are involved with, go find something else to do."Specialties: People management, Customer relationship management, Business improvement, Process management, Technical writing, Applied finance management, Performance management, Project management, SLA management, Supplier management, Grilling on the barbie, Finding running races that have great food & drink!

Program Management Senior - Data Analytics & GovernanceCharles Schwab Dec 2018 - PresentWestlake, TxProgram leader brought on to help build and implement a data quality and issues management process that both answered to a Federal Reserve Board mandate for new standards and data value. Created a foundational support framework in the initial year of the program that beat project deadlines by driving agile practices across technical & business teams. Then built a data issues management process that brought the often-mundane aspects of data governance into a fully engaging process that has received rave reviews from the business and audit teams for its simplicity and compelling value management wins. I also carve out time as a Clifton Strengths coach to run team sessions across the firm. -
Program Manager - Strategy/Delivery Global Cio TeamBt Aug 2017 - Dec 2018Dallas/Fort Worth AreaIn this role I was with the BT Global Services CIO team helping set and deliver key strategic projects. My efforts drove $2.5M in annual cost and revenue improvements - mostly from getting with the business units & finance to understand the key problems that are holding them back and thus costing the company money. Beyond seeing the problem to fix strategically I have stayed engaged with many account teams, (Mars, PepsiCo, Jabil, Coty, etc.), to help fix the immediate end-to-end issues. The endgame even for me in a forward thinking/strategic job like this was to always stay engaged with the 'here & now' of the customer. -
Americas Pre-Sales Bid & Contract ManagementBt Jan 2015 - Aug 2017Dallas/Fort Worth AreaFrom January 2015 to August 2017 I was in this BT Global Services customer supporting and facing role to help drive BT Americas’ focus on faster bid, request & order management for the 150+ Americas customers that we directly support for their sites around the globe. The role had me leading a motivated team of request managers & technical specialists to drive existing business. I then took on a dedicated pre-sales role that worked new customer bids and renewing existing contracts to sell a mixture of WAN and Cloud based solutions. No matter the solution, it was all about listening to the customer requirements, setting real timelines, and making it a team game to deliver. -
Business Improvement Consultant/PrincipalBt Jan 2008 - Jan 2015Dallas/Fort Worth AreaDuring the 7 year period in this BT Global Services position I led a number of key global consulting projects relating to customer improvement, data analytics, finance management, knowledge management, and internal business improvement. I drove results by partnering with everyone from Finance to the Level 1 Help Desk to not only arrive at the desired program results but also addressing the legacy issues at all organizational levels. The highlight was my creation of an end-to-end financial & operational inventory review program supported by the CxO’s that encompassed $7.7 million in savings and drove instrumental improvements across the operational support functions. -
Account Relationship ManagerBt Aug 2006 - Jan 2008Dallas/Fort Worth AreaIn this BT Global Services role I supported 3 customers (Texas Instruments, PepsiCo, and Fidelity Investments) in the client facing support role for all facets of the BT/client relationship in regards to sales and support. I received numerous BT and customer executive commendations for my drive and clarity in managing through complex issues and keeping the customer informed. The highlight was the positive feedback I received for the support of a critical but remote site in the Philippines for a 14 month temporary backup solution. My work with local provider PLDT ensured this backup worked through a myriad of events (typhoons, bad design, etc...) and I was endlessly thanked by the customer for my tireless efforts. -
Customer Relationship Manager/People ManagerIbm Feb 2001 - Feb 2005Greater Chicago AreaI held IBM Global Services positions supporting customers Discover/Morgan Stanley and the City of Chicago. With both customers I was hired to the position to address customer satisfaction issues and drive team change, which I successfully delivered on. I overhauled the CxO review processes, delivered improved documentation, and delivered cost and people savings. The highlight was driving a 30% increase for overall customer satisfaction on the Discover/Morgan Stanley account - much of it gained by my focus on the details and ensuring we would do what we committed across the 5 delivery organizations. -
People Manager/Process ManagerIbm Jul 1997 - Feb 2001Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul AreaHeld a variety of positions on the IBM Global Services account supporting American Express Financial Advisors (now Ameriprise). Started as a data restoration team member watching over data backups tapes on a server farm. But moved my way up into a process improvement position, and then onto a Help Desk people management position. Highlight was my receiving an award from the AMEX executive for saving them $400K, which I found by making phone calls about tape warranties. -
8 Positions - From Caddy To Pool BartenderGolden Valley Golf And Country Club Apr 1981 - Aug 1994Golden Valley, MnI started as a golf caddy - carrying bags for a wide variety of people - who carried with them a wide variety of golf skill, patience (or lack thereof), love of food & drink, and so much more. Over the 13 years I held many different jobs across the club and it became a second home to me growing up. It taught me a lot about people, life, and decision making. The highlight of the experience was my caddying in the 1983 USGA Senior Open and helping my golfer be in the lead after the 1st round.
