Responsible for the direction and management of the construction and service crews of Journeyman Lineman in a satellite service center for the local electric utility. Provide daily direction for the safe construction, maintenance, and operation of one of the most reliable Cooperative systems in the United States. Also have oversight locally for customer service representatives, meter readers, warehouse employees and system designers who work to support the service territory. Work with warehouse personnel to ensure inventory is charged to appropriate projects and customers. Responsible to manage the high-line transmission crew of Journeyman Lineman for the entire Cooperative, who work the transmission system while energized due to geographic location limitations. Responsible for storm hardening and for storm restoration in the event of storm damage. Following Hurricane Irma in 2017, managed a crew of 150 Journeyman Lineman in combination with in-house crews to perform a complete restoration in ten days starting with zero customers having electric power following the storm.Work closely with the Engineering department and system designers to ensure customer satisfaction while working within electric safety code requirements. Also provide significant input into custom design products and solutions with the Engineering department and with vendors for unique or difficult projects. Provide input to department budgets, capital project identification and budgets, and consistently work with vendors for new and innovative solutions and products which may bring value to the Cooperative and the Journeyman Lineman crews.Responsible for a $2.6M addition to the satellite service center, providing oversight to the General Contractor for the project, identifying potential issues, determining acceptable resolutions, and ensuring the project is on track and within scope.

Leveraged knowledge from a long career as Journeyman Lineman to provide expertise in system design for safety, reliability and practicality. Interacted with community leaders on significant or high-profile projects to ensure safe, reliable, and customer friendly solutions.Frequently worked with vendors to provide specifications, identify new products or solutions, and test new products or solutions available in the utility marketplace to evaluate potential value to the Cooperative. Worked with other departments to ensure inventory items were estimated appropriately for quotes to customers, and subsequently were charged to appropriate projects. Provided guidance to standardize the design for routine projects and ensure internal system cost values reflected the same.

Worked as Journeyman Lineman, and subsequently promoted to Journeyman Lineman Crew Leader. Managed construction and service crews. Managed overhead and underground distribution projects and maintenance. Performed as lead Journeyman Lineman on the high voltage transmission crew, designing solutions for system improvements and ensuring maintenance was completed in a timely manner. Mentored junior Journeyman Lineman and participated in the Apprentice Lineman Committee, providing leadership and training to Apprentice Journeyman Lineman. Provided significant input into the Cooperative Safety Committee, ensuring consistent and safe use of equipment and testing of new products and procedures.

Managed multiple crews simultaneously to ensure deadlines and customer requirements were met in the most safe, reliable and efficient way possible. During storm events, managed multiple crews in multiple locations to provide restoration for end customers in the most safe and efficient manner possible. Traveled to client locations as required to provide support to crews, meet with clients, and to ensure safe and efficient work practices.
