Working in the oil & gas industry for 12 years I understand the pain and sacrifice offshore workers make to give themselves and loved ones a better life. Missing out on important birthdays, anniversaries and funerals. Sharing a cabin with someone on the same shift or the negative chat in the tea shack around pay cuts and redundancies. As much as the income can be very good, I never saw any happy endings. The older guys I spoke to either had to keep working offshore as their families were accustomed to the lifestyle. They were going through another divorce and had to build back up the funds. Or they didn’t have a good relationship with their children. I didn’t want that for myself…Since 2006 I began building a property portfolio. Slow and steady I then started to add in flipping properties during my time at home from offshore. But when my daughter was born in 2016 I quit offshore and focused fully on my property business. As part of my business I run weekend workshops a couple of times per year educating offshore workers how they can build up a successful buy-to-let portfolio or flip properties to grow their pot. This is not theory based education, this is taught using my real life case studies that I do day in day out in my business.
