Working on detachment in Brunei as the Aeromedical Evacuation Liaison Officer; facilitating casualty repatriation and patient movement between the UK and SE Asia. Working in Emergency Departments during the pandemic, in acute care and as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner. Supporting and mentoring junior staff ready for deployment. Tactical Medical Wing

Co-ordinating and leading medical escort teams to retrieve patients from around the globe. Liaising with international medical facilities, defence attachés and deployed military units to facilitate the aircraft retrieval of patients. Leading in-flight medical support on aeromedical missions to transfer patients into the NHS. Co-ordinating large scale repatriation of military and civilian Covid patients globally during lockdown through clinical assurance measures and strategic and tactical escort provision.Developed aeromedical teams, initiating clinical supervision sessions and coaching and mentoring.

Joint Hospital Group (Sw)

Leading on a Healthcare Governance Assurance Framework JHG(SW) in preparation for an assurance visit. This achieved the highest rating throughout all the military secondary healthcare Units in the UK and led to further involvement assuring other units. This was facilitated through strong inter-department working and regular and coordinated input involving staff at all levels.

Oman

Managed and facilitated the patient coordination of one of the largest international integrated military exercises in the world supporting British and Royal Oman Forces. Working to ensure the recovery of British personnel from Oman back to the UK via tactical and strategic transport within short timelines. Organised movement and co-ordination of deployed patients and medical retrieval escorts through liaising with field medics, logistical commanders and UK strategic medical command.

Leading teams in deployed EDs, Field Hospitals and NHS major trauma centres to deliver excellent patient care, developing teams and skills through coaching and mentoring junior nurses and medics. Supporting strategic and tactical objectives by ensuring patient flow and liaising with key stakeholders to deliver the operational mission at ground level.

From student nurse to SNCO. Working as team leader and middle management in various nursing roles, UK and abroad. Sole responder in austere outposts dealing with emergencies; Single handedly dealing with three casualties in an explosion successfully treated and packaged ready for airlift. Delivered pre-hospital care to UK patient and delivered successful life saving interventions prior to transfer to hospital. Delivering gold standard care in an austere environment to casualties at Camp Bastion during the Afghanistan conflict. Facilitated close and supportive team-working and focused patient approach as team leader enabling life-saving treatment.
