    Cronologics is a smartwatch platform based on Android. I was employee #6 and the third Software Engineer on the team. At Cronologics, I primarily worked on what we called the "bluetooth bridge", which was a language-agnostic, binary-based message passing protocol over BLE that allowed our Android and iOS clients to communicate with the watches. I also maintained the iOS client, designed initial wireframes for the watch UI and companion apps, worked on early versions of the watch UI, and deployed an early version of "the cloud" which demonstrated smart-home features like turning on/off a lightbulb.(Cronologics was acquired by Google in Dec 2016 and is now part of the Android Wear team.)

    Nixie is a flying camera that's intended to be completely hands-free, so that you don't have to be taken out of the moment when trying to capture it.I was part of Nixie's pre-founding team, which won the grand prize in Intel's Make-it-Wearable competition. At Nixie, I was responsible for the full software architecture/stack, which included everything that ran on the device as well as the mobile clients and the development machines. The only software I didn't have a direct hand in writing was the flight algorithm.(Nixie is currently part of Andy Rubin's incubator, Playground.)

    At Google, I worked on one of the core web teams that created the tools and foundations used by our larger team of developers to enable large-scale web production across multiple product areas. These tools included a cloud-based static site generator powered by one of the first design systems built to enable style consistency across Google sites, along with HTML, JS, and CSS linting and compilation with automated dependency calculations using the Closure suite of tools.I also had a stint on the Google+ Communities team doing more traditional SWE work on web, Android, and iOS. On the backend, the team used a Java-based dependency injection framework and protobuf RPC system called the Apps Framework. The frontend was mainly powered by native code for each platform: vanilla JS for the web (written with Closure Library), Java for Android, and Obj-C for iOS.
