I spent the majority of my career as a capital fundraising and strategic consultant at CCS Fundraising, a strategic consulting firm that has partnered with nonprofits for over 75 years. I focused my work on planning, designing, implementing and managing comprehensive philanthropic campaigns, assessments, interim management and leadership capacity building. I served as counsel to religious, education, foundation, healthcare, social service, start-up, environmental, zoological, and cultural institutions by teaming up with their leadership and philanthropists to help fund diverse charitable needs. I also served on the Client Service sub-committee of the CCS Board of Directors and was a Co-Chair of the firm’s Healthcare Practice Group.My specialties include:- Executive oversight and direct management of campaigns that raised $2 billion+;- Structuring and executing tailored philanthropy plans;- Devising bespoke giving strategies and techniques; - Recruiting, training and coaching philanthropists;- Developing Boards, executives and professional staff;- Teaching, coaching and mentoring corporate professionals;- Navigating various crisis situations;- Solving strategic and operational dilemmas;- Building cohesive, dynamic teams; and- Generating multi-million annual corporate revenue.I had the privilege of being one of the firm’s Partners for nearly a decade. My daily role was to lead local and regional client work in St. Louis and multiple Central and Southern United States. In addition. I was a regular speaker at various St. Louis and industry conferences across the country. I also enjoyed a near decade relationship with WashU and most directly with the Brown School of Social work where we would recruit fellows and new talent. I would regularly present on the business of philanthropy.
