Programme: My Digital Workplace (MDW)EUC Infrastructure Project Manager successfully delivering a programme of work to implement a cloud focused virtual non-persistent desktop environment for circa 10,000 users. The solution incorporated the following technologies, HPe Hardware, Cisco switchgear, Hitachi and EMC SAN’s, Citrix Cloud, Vmware ESXi, Citrix XenDesktop, Citrix Netscaler, iVanti Appsense and FSLogix. Managing the DC hardware design and purchase through to full build. Managing the build of the full software stack and Pilot testing through to handover to the migration teams.Implementing over 140 Windows and Linux servers across the estate. This is a global infrastructure upgrade to support a virtualised Windows 10 desktop incorporating Office 365.

Developing an Automation and Big Data cloud services solution

Infrastructure Project Manager successfully delivering a programme of work to modernise UBS by streamlining processes and building a new global VDI infrastructure to migrate 80% of the workforce endpoints to a Virtualised Desktop and implementing Citrix, VMware and Appsense technologies. Managing and negotiating contracts with vendors. Successfully implementing security monitoring tools and operational monitoring of the virtual environment.Managing the design and build of the VDI infrastructure software stacks, building Data Centre hardware, network and virtualised servers. Utilising the current IaaS, SaaS and PaaS services. Implemented the introduction of VMware AppVolumes and Writeable Volumes to assist application delivery to the VDI. Implemented the introduction of the AppSense suite of tools to enable profile and application setting persistence. All within a non-persistent Virtual Desktop environment.Due to programme issues within the application packaging work stream I was parachuted in to this area to setup and manage application repackaging factories (Offshore and Onshore) to repackage the virtualised desktop applications using AppV, AppVolumes, Writeable Volumes and RDS solutions and integrate the workload with existing BAU teams and processes. I introduced a new application packaging workflow tool, ‘Access Capture’ to realise cost savings through automating application package creation and testing (UAT). This work stream area was successfully turned around, control regained and Programme timelines re-established.

Analysing the business requirements and turning this detailed information into a successful project with defined scope and deliverables, whilst continually managing client business area expectations. Co-ordinating with software vendors and client business areas and the facilitation of application implementations to time and budget. I have successfully delivered a wide portfolio of applications across all areas of the JP Morgan Chase business. This involved the management of delivery teams in a global matrix environment and delivering project products to the required quality and within the required project timescales. The use of specific migration enabling tools like Juriba Dashworks and analysis of Systrack data assisted the discovery, implementation and control of the project. I specifically managed the Investment Bank, Treasury Services and Worldwide Securities Services LOB’s within the firm.Using my Project and Data Management experience, I guided the Global iSpace Application Project Managers to gain control of their own business areas and allow the LOB aligned projects to regain client confidence.
