One team was hired completely ground up with all new-to-Ping.

Managed a team of 9 globally-dispersed developers, responsible for building and maintaining the backend services that collect and normalize data for our enterprise fleet management platform Lead efforts to improve and refine hardware-in-the-loop simulation to cut down on manual drive testing and time-consuming acceptance testing for embedded software.

• Oversaw the full SDLC for a B2B SaaS product which helps more than 50,000 users manage over 1,000,000 sites and 1.7 million projects globally
• Tracked development progress for large releases, managing Jira projects, boards, and versions in order to accurately report on project state and timelines
• Introduced and championed the design and implementation of Feature Toggles into a legacy app with many dependencies, which cut recovery time down for high severity issues by 95% and enabled incremental staged testing.
• Managed a team doing significant refactoring that moved the product to shorter releases from 3 months down to 1 month with fewer (and for the last 6 months 0) release-related severity issues

• Began and executed an initiative to treat our test framework as a product, and evangelized Software Engineering principles and practices to our growing team of Software Engineers in Test
• Custodian of Accruent’s automation strategy, including continuous delivery and continuous integration with an automated regression test suite, fostering team and individual ownership of quality
• Made automated test results more accessible to a larger audience and more effective, finding bugs and issues before manual testing and pushed ownership to the development pods
• Began and drove efforts that resulted in improving our test success rate from ~60% to 99% and increased the number of tests from roughly 300 to over 750
• Initiated and delivered on a project to create a tool for evaluating the statement-based code coverage of our automated UI tests and compare those results to unit tests and manual tests from our existing regression.
• Helped define role for Software Engineer in Test as well as Software Engineer in Tools, contributing to job descriptions for hiring and creating development/training plans for internal resources
