Responsible for researching international health and economic policy and briefing the senior executive to advance Australia’s health policy agenda through the department’s international engagement with the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).Key Achievement: Provided a high quality briefing paper to the Health Minister demonstrating the political and strategic value of increasing Australia’s financial contributions to the OECD to support its work on preventative health measures. The briefing was approved and strategy implemented.

Provided legal and strategic advice on the development of a new government agency responsible for safety and quality in health care as part of Australia’s health reform agenda. Responsible for drafting legislation to establish the agency, advising on intellectual property issues and developing negotiating positions to secure funding from the State and Federal governments to establish the new agency. Key Achievement: Secured funding and finalized legislation that was passed by parliament resulting in the establishment of the new agency in line with the government’s health reform policy.

A start-up company to provide a social hub for recreational fishermen and promote sustainable fishing practices. Developing a comprehensive business and marketing plan as well as seeing the project through product design and development, presentations to investors, recruitment, management and final implementation. Key Achievements: launched the website on a zero dollar budget through concept, design and development. Featured on Ideamensch.com alongside entrepreneurs such as Craig Newmark (craigslist.com) and Matt Flannery (Kiva.org).

I was recruited by Bristows law firm as a paralegal in the IP Litigation Department, working almost exclusively on a pharmaceutical lifecycle management project, in which Bristows managed the litigation and regulatory strategy across Europe. Key Achievement: recognized, proposed and implemented a solution for managing and interpreting vast quantities of information for our clients using a secure web interface that could be updated in real-time.

My primary duty was to distribute, conduct and collect criminology research surveys within an allocated area in Canberra. Given the sensitive nature of the surveys, this required excellent interpersonal skills on my behalf and the ability to relate to a diverse range of people within the community. In this position I also performed numerous office administration duties including data entry and online research.
