A tax accountant by training “yesteryear”, I have very strong computer, analytic, investigative, & research abilities. In recent decades I have applied such skills to political activism and to micromanaging the health care of those I care most about. More recently, I have excelled as a chef and although I eat mostly greens, fruit, & fish 6 days per week, I thoroughly enjoy all my old favorites the 7th day. I went from working long hours as a Tax Manager to day trading to being a patient advocate, the most meaningful work of my life. I extended lives of those who meant the most to me as long as I could & life itself allowed. Yes, lost both my dear parents & meaningful friends in 2018. Oh, I have NOT "moved on", & resent that term, but have certainly "moved forward". Note, although I quit the corporate world in 1998, I never felt "retired" until June of 2019. Got to tell you , it feels absolutely wonderful! So while this "born again FOODie" has seriously considered ideas like opening my own diner, buying into & expanding an established knish business, & marketing what I think is a unique recipe I developed that has perfected the taste of a very popular American food, etc., I am perfectly content at this time taking it easy for the first time in my life. Yes, I periodically travel from south Florida to NYC to see my wonderful girlfriend and we talk daily; the long distance relationship is working for both of us. To my old friends and work colleagues who see this, hope life is treating you well! For the headhunters ("recruiters") who still message me despite me being perfectly clear I left that world more than 20 years ago, haha, don't bother unless you are bringing 7 figure venture capitalist $$$ my way to develop one of my zany national FOOdie ideas. Some of my favorite phrases: If you don't speak up in this world you will get lost. If you live long enough you will see everything. Too much care is sometimes (not always) better than too little. Some things you cannot change but never regret not trying. It's not a science but I play the odds.
