I have responsibility for the driving the implementation of Office 365 Services to a truly global organisation, consisting of over 350 sites in over 90 countries, including over 40,000 accounts. End-users can be located in high-tech offices, production facilities or quite literally in a field.Working with internal enterprise architects, security, IT operations, specialists from Microsoft and trusted 3rd parties. Syngenta has rapidly transitioned significant core services from on premise infrastructure to the cloud.As the services offered by Office 365 are changing constantly it is crucial that the product roadmap is monitored constantly and any significant changes acted upon. Appropriate governance for Office 365 has also been developed and is key to the successful adoption of Office 365.Office 365 services that have been deployed include Yammer, OneDrive (user driven data migration), Exchange (migration from on premise Exchange 2010), Teams, SharePoint (including migration from MOSS 2007 and SharePoint 2010 farms) and Office Click-to-run.Syngenta is part of the Technology Adoption Program (TAP) for Teams, this enables our input to shape the product. Certain users are in the early adopter 1.5 deployment ring for Teams, we are able to test functionality before it is deployed to a wider audience.Defining 'user personas' has been crucial to determine the appropriate license that should be assigned to individual internal users, correct license assignment ensures maximum value to the business from the investment in Office 365. Management of external users is also critical, via Azure B2B or F1 licenses.
