About Steve Scofield

It is no accident that the world’s most valuable brands accelerate growth through relevant and complimentary partnerships. It’s my passion to deploy this approach in joining up automotive and people development solution to support that goal wherever possible.Having had an early start in the automotive sector in my father’s bodyshop age 6, our family were less worried about child labour back then, but they were passionate about business and people so from those early beginnings my journey has helped me understand business and people needs are intrinsically entwined and always shifting.This early introduction started me on an interesting career and personal quest for all things automotive business and people development. I guess in addition I could be classed as a ‘petrol head’ which built on my passion for the sector and competitive nature, had led me into the world of motorsport, rallying, motorcycling and karting as a few of the many hobbies. I guess as I move with the times that petrol head will morph into all things electric.I am grateful my career has provided the opportunity to gain a massive breadth of people development experience across all the automotive retail sub sectors and the journey has supported an excellent understanding of the training and skills systems around the globe.More recently , having engaged in much more personal leadership development, a strong passion and belief that inspiring people is a key contributor to moving organisations from good to great. Again I have been lucky that the work on leadership development for the sector coupled with the personal development has provided some great insights into effective business development though people.Change is our only constant, so from strategy development to roll-out, I am intrigued and excited by amazing journey that will unfold for both automotive and the people in it, as we evolve into a more integrated and connected mobility sector. This even tops my passion for good gin,.... well….. most of the time.
